feels like being a kid once again
i’m currently doing a new project . . .
slightly different from my main account but nonetheless, the challenge was something i want to face . . . knowing the positive effect it might have once i’ve accomplished it . . . hehe, god knows what i’m expecting to happen after this . . .
oh well, i’m currently trying to understand animes . . . something i’ve never watched before . . .
ok, i’ve watched bioman, shaider . . . but come intermediate level in grade school, my preference for tv shows has changed . . . and then i said goodbye to cartoons . . .
so basically, i was there . . . lost . . . not knowing why even a lot of adults (males so to speak) still engage in such cartoons or even a couple of high school friends going ga-ga over those cartoons characters . . .
well, honestly after trying to watch and understand animes, i realized it’s still not something i’d always look forward to watching . . .
but i’m now more open to watch some . . .
given certain criteria, that is . . .
the real benefits of anime . . .
believe me . . . before i thought it was just for kids . . . it was just now that i realized marami pa siyang kaya i-offer sa mga tv viewers . . . kaya pala gustung-gusto pa rin siya kahit ng matatanda . . .
oh well . . . back to anime watching . . .

Uncategorized | Comment (0)driving is a skill
i believe almost everyone is aware that one of my favorite hobbies is to drive . . .
well, it’s definitely a way for me to be able to unwind . . . a chance for me to be free . . . because i get to be in control . . .
with almost 10 years of driving around metro manila . . . i realized i may still not be one of the best drivers in the country but i know perhaps i’m much better than other people driving in foreign land . . . well, i believe pinoy defensive drivers are way better anyway
how come?
well, think about the traffic conditions in the country . . . especially for me who travels everyday along commonwealth avenue . . . the so-called killer highway . . .
of course, we are all aware of the rather undisciplined and uneducated public utility drivers . . . and it’s definitely a skill to be able to predict how they’re going to make their move especially when they’re near your car . . .
but . . . there is also another thing a filipino driver must watch out for nowadays . . .
aside from the other 4-wheeled vehicles, you need to watch out for the two-wheeled ones . . . which can exist any second from any direction . . .
grabe, driving nowadays is definitely like running in an obstacle course . . .
buti na lang talaga naimbento ang side mirrors and rear-view mirrors . . .

wala lang . . .
don’t you just hate it ‘pag may mga epal sa paligid?
i mean . . . consider a situation when everyone in a group is conversing and someone enters and joins the conversation kahit ‘di siya iniimbita?
or how about situations when a person would directly steal the floor when someone already has taken lead . . .
i mean i shouldn’t really care . . . because i prefer being the silent type in the group. ‘di ako magsasalita hanggat ‘di ako iniimbita sa usapan . . . i don’t like inviting myself in . . . i’d rather wait to be invited . . . at least i’ll know my presence shall be appreciated . . .
bad trip lang kasi ‘pag minsan ayos na ‘yung plano tapos pilit na iibahin . . . buti sana kung nasa planning stage pa . . . pero it’s already in effect . . . asar lang talaga . . .
eto ‘yung mga situation that i’d rather go home . . . watch tv . . . and just try to forget the bad day . . .

thoughts | Comment (0)talk about unity
this was just something i realized while i was hearing mass earlier . . .
during the “our father,” i noticed we do still raise up our hands but there’s something . . . it appears we no longer are willing to hold hands with our seatmates, especially if we don’t know them . . .
weird ‘no? i mean, look back years ago . . . kahit sino pa ‘yung katabi natin, we’d be willing to hold their hands as the whole church sings the “our father”. nakakalungkot lang . . . kasi it’s one way of really showing we’re no longer as united as before . . .
maybe that really proves it . . . sa simpleng bagay na ‘yun ‘di pa rin natin completely maipakita that we are united . . . what more ‘pag mas seryosong bagay na like uniting the country as a whole as a way of developing the nation . . . kaya siguro talagang mahirap ipag-unite ang buong bansa . . .

Religion | Comment (0)where are the real tagalog songs?
about a month ago, i was driving home after a busy day at work . . . i turned on the radio and felt relieved that they’re playing one of my favorite songs . . . “bleeding love” by leona lewis. as usual . . . like what i always do when my favorite song is being played, i increased the volume to appreciate the song much better . . .
but lo and behold! tagalog??? my god naman . . . talk about real disappointment during that time . . . i wanted to relieve myself from the stressful day at work tapos ang narinig ko pa is a tagalized version of one of the songs i like . . .
ok . . . i understand maybe others would be appreciating the song given that they can understand the lyrics much better . . . pero, iba pa rin kasi . . . i’m sorry . . . but it quite became “jologs” for me . . .
remember a recent post before . . . regarding my concern why most tagalog songs are just revivals of old songs? this adds to my disappointment in the local music industry. where are the composers? i want to hear new opm songs . . . not just revivals . . . and definitely not tagalized versions of popular english songs . . . naman, kaya ko pa tanggapin ang “chipmunks version” ng popular songs pero tagalog version of low by flo rida, umbrella by rihanna, clumsy by fergie . . . ang dami pa!
yes, it’s a still a showcase of filipino talent . . . the more we can prove we are a bilingual country, right? pero . . . we’ve got more talent than that . . . where’s the filipino pride? nasaan na ‘yung sinasabi natin na filipinos are music lovers? maybe that’s the reason why i like filipino bands more, like parokya ni edgar . . . and a few solo performers like yeng constantino, and to some extent, sarah geronimo . . . because they have original songs . . .
i remember a time back in college, i had a conversation with a few close buddies . . . then we came up with a good topic . . . which would you prefer your loved one tell you . . . “i love you” or “mahal kita”? i thought for a while . . . but i came up with “mahal kita” . . . why? because i feel it’s more sincere . . . i guess the fact that people nowadays seldom say it makes it more sincere and heartfelt . . . only a courageous person will only say such . . . and that’s real love . . .
ganoon din ‘yun in original filipino songs . . . regardless if it’s in tagalog or english language . . . ang importante, the song is written by a filipino . . . whose experience of writing the song is most likely the same as our experience in loving. the fact na mas mararamdaman mo ‘yung kanta . . . then, the more sincere it is . . .
